(This article is not about the weather. But yes, it was very chilly.)
I had two great reasons to wander through downtown Alliance this early evening. First, I visited the Carnegie Arts Center. It is truly one of the crown jewels of our fair city, and right now they’re displaying items from their 2025 Anniversary Art Show. Nothing is as good as seeing artwork in person, but I hope these pics will inspire you to pay them a visit.

Isn’t that lovely?
The nice thing about seeing these pieces at the Carnegie is how wonderfully inviting the gallery is. Lots of nice benches so you can sit down and really connect with the artwork. Much like Cameron Frye was swept into A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. (It’s both a distinguished art history reference and an 80’s movie reference! Yahtzee!)
By the way, Wentyworld.com is once again proud to be a prize sponsor for the Carnegie’s Anniversary Art Show. As always, the Wentyworld Board Of Directors recommended we spend the money on Perry Como records but I overruled them.
After my visit to the Carnegie, I headed for the Alliance Theater, which now has a mini-arcade!

The arcade is within the Alliance Theater building and is decked out with six arcade video games and three pinball machines. Prepare to be nostalgic!

I absolutely love what Edison Red Nest and his family have done to make the Alliance Theater such a fun, nostalgic place to see a movie.

They have my book on display! How very sweet of them to do that. Before I left the theater/arcade, I talked to Edison briefly about the new addition:
Thanks Edison! And here’s to these and other great things in my adopted hometown. They almost make up for the general crappiness of tonight’s weather.
