There seems to be a cause-and-effect thing as goes this lil’ old blog o’mine.
When things are not great–for example, the Covid years–I become super-prolific, writing all kinds of stuff. Good stuff! But when things are great–like 2024 was–well, the blog starts to gather tumbleweeds. I did not write ANYTHING for the blog from August through November. And only one article in December.
To quote a retired friend of mine, “Nobody’s going to prison”. The blog isn’t a job, and I sure as heck don’t get paid for it. But I do pay for it–so here’s a New Year’s Resolution….more writing!
2024 was a great year for me. It was the year I said farewell to dialysis (for how long one never knows) and began a year-long extravaganza of travel, making up for the year or so my travel was limited in space and time by those thrice-weekly dialysis treatments.
Anyway, here are some things I wrote in 2024.
January:
Doc And Dave Get Nostalgic
My pal Dangerous Dave and I started writing and producing radio dramas twenty years ago!
February:
Wentyworld: The Book!
This is still a thing. My pal Pat has already done some awesome illustrations for the book….
March:
Hey…I Think I’ve Heard That Song Before…
An article about jingles, and the way they latch onto your brain like a tick, or something.
By God, I Still had Fun!
In spite of all the bumps and bruises I’ve endured while travelling…
Sally Jesse Raphael!
A memorable trip to New York City with some dear friends…
Down With The Sickness
Or, “Exactly How Close Was I To Dying?”
June:
Host Swaps
Game show hosts, talk show hosts…
He Shot Jim Backus!
And two other movies.
Mommie Dearest
Or, why is it fun to explore failures?
Rudolph Bails On The Eye
A Christmas classic is relocated.
