I feel fortunate that when I write something in my little corner of the interwebs, I get interesting comments–both here on the website and on Facebook where I share article links. In fact my last article, about staying positive on social media, garnered lots of good feedback and shares.
However, like many bloggers, the majority of my comments are spam. I get an email whenever a comment arrives so that I approve, trash, or mark it as spam. I’m not sure what good marking a comment as Spam is, though, because the same users keep coming back and spamming. It’s kind of like tagging the rats in New York City. Sure, the tags help classify them, but you know they aren’t going away.
Soooooooooo…I have decided to give in and showcase some of the brilliant comments spammers have left on my website. Some offer positive critique, others marvel at my frequency of posts, and some just offer fortune-cookie-like nuggets of wisdom. But they’re all spam…and I think it’s time they got their day in the spotlight! So please read and enjoy actual comments to this website from spammers. Every word is a picture! Or a crayon drawing, or something. Enough preamble–on with the quotes!
‘I believe that you just could do with a few p.c. to power the message house a little bit’ -Eldridge Spamshire, Liverpool
“This tip offered by you is very helpful for good planning.” -Ladysmith Black Spambazo, Nigeria
“What can I say? I procrastinate a lot and never manage to get nearly anything done.” – Ralph Spamden, Bensonhurst
“Choosing the best hair gel for men makes all the difference in any hairstyle.” – Vidal Spamsoon, Malibu
If I get positive feedback I may do this again. But it may be a few days; I need to spend some serious time powering my message house.
